This program, designed for Primary students , is based on intergrating language with Art. The fundamentals is based on listening, reading, speaking, writing and pastel oil techniques.

KG-1

Your Child will listen to a story or learn a song followed by a discussion of what they just learnt. They will be taught how to draw the main characters and formulate a vocabulary list from the story or song. Later on, the student will be introduced to the use of oil-pastel to draw and colour a scenary from the story. Descriptive sentences will be incorporated into the scenary using the vocabulary list for an oral presentation to the group.

Yr 2-3

Students select twenty words from a story to be used in conjuction with a scene the student drew in relation to the story. Students will have the opportunity to talk about their work in relation to the narrative, and produce a summary to be handed to the rest of the class for discussion. Furthermore, students will be taught etching and printing Oil-Pastel techniques to draw and colour another scenary for an oral presentation. During this presentation, the student is required to use seven words from their own vocabulary list to teach the class who will use these words in constructing sentences or questions.

Yr 4-6

Students will be taught how to use the rubber and ruler techniques in Oil-Pastal painting in order to draw their own story and characters to be presented to the class.  The student will undertake exercises in sentence structure, phonetic rules, reading, spelling and writing. These skill will be used by the student to construct a summary of their story/book to be discussed in class.
